Ordinary Habit believes in slowing down to create space for daily rituals. Their first-ever journal is a natural progression of this mission. Within these pages you'll find original writing prompts that can be completed at any time and in any order. From answering questions, to making lists, to leisurely doodling, we hope this guided journal encourages you to pause, reset, and reconnect with the world around you.
Inside the Journal: For Now: A Journal For Ordinary Moments is a 120-page guided workbook filled with written prompts meant to help you notice and reflect upon the small details that make up your day. The practice of journaling can be a little daunting for beginners, or anyone struggling to reconnect, and a bit of gentle guidance is a great way to get things flowing. The writing prompts you’ll find within the journal focus not only on positivity, but also taking the time to slow down and notice the tiny details that help bring you joy.
Artwork for Pause: Ordinary Habit is passionate about partnering with independent artists for all their products. Weaving their way across the cover and inside pages, Marleigh Culver’s organic line drawings are the perfect complement to the journal’s free-form nature. Trace the lines beneath your fingers or color outside them as an exercise in letting go — whichever suits your mood.
About Ordinary Habit
:
Ordinary Habit was founded with a simple purpose: to create artful objects, designed to be both fun and functional, that would help people access habitual moments of calm and connectedness. Founders Teresa and Echo Hopkins, a mother-daughter duo, believed in the transformative nature of something perfectly ordinary: daily play. They set out to create products that would be simple to use, beautiful to look at, and luxurious in quality. Starting with a line of jigsaw puzzles, they have now expanded the collections to include matching cards and accessories for home and life. Each item they offer is meant to serve as both a reason to gather together with friends, and as an escape for individuals in search of quietude – games to be brought out at a party, or used as a form of tactile meditation throughout your day.
Why we 🤍 them: We love Ordinary Habit for so many reasons, it’s hard to pick just one. They’ve created beautiful and artful puzzles in sizes ranging from 100 to 1,000, making it easy to take them on the go, or settle in at home. The designs are beautiful and elegant, while somehow being fun and playful at the same time - even the boxes they come in are begging to be displayed. Beyond the products themselves, Teresa and Echo are committed to making a positive impact. They use recycled paperboard for their materials to ensure sustainability, strive to make sure diversity is represented in their designs and puzzles, share the beautiful stories about the artists themselves, and donate a portion of their proceeds on a recurring basis to groups that support emotional and mental wellbeing. Most recently, they partnered with The Loveland Foundation to help bring opportunity and healing to black women and girls. Whether you’re looking for something for yourself, or to give to another, Ordinary Habit has you covered.
